Natalia I. Filimonova

Doctor of Medicine, Professor

She graduated from medical university in 1990 with a degree in pediatrics. Since 1994, she has worked at the University at the Departments of Normal Physiology and Anatomy (1994-1996), Pathology (1996-2005), Microbiology, Virology and Immunology (2005-present). From 2008 to 2024, she has been the Head of the Department of Microbiology, Virology and Immunology at the National University of Pharmacy.

In 2022, she graduated from the Kharkiv Humanities University “People’s Ukrainian Academy” and received a degree in philology and English translation.

Educational and methodological work. She lectures, conducts practical and seminar classes in the disciplines “Microbiology with the basics of immunology”, “Microbiology with the basics of epidemiology”, “Epidemiology”, “Epidemiology of diseases”, “Phthisiology with evaluation of research results”, “Tropical infections”.

 

Research work. In 2003, she defended her doctoral dissertation on “Microbiological substantiation of the rational combined use of glucocorticoids and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs with antibiotics” (scientific adviser – Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Y.L. Volyansky).

Research interests: medical microbiology, virology, antibiotic resistance, study of microbial contamination of various dosage forms and pharmaceuticals.

She is the author of more than 290 scientific papers, including 2 monographs, 5 textbooks, 16 manuals, 8 methodological recommendations and 14 patents of Ukraine.

  • Diploma of the Association of Employers’ Organizations of the Medical and Microbiological Industry,
  • Diploma of the All-Ukrainian publishing project “Scientific and Educational Potential of Ukraine”.
  • Diploma of the All-Ukrainian publishing project “National medicine in Ukraine and in the world. Names. Achievements. Prospects.” for a significant contribution to the development of national medicine.
  • Diploma for assistance in providing personal protective equipment against COVID-19 to the personnel of the Kharkiv Zonal Department of the Military Law Enforcement Service.
