Every day of the occupation of Ukraine poses a deadly threat not only to the military but also to the civilian population. The enemy does not shy away from cruel, dishonorable and even illegal methods of warfare. This also applies to the mining of territories.
In the de-occupied towns and villages, there have been many cases of mining of residential buildings and farms, playgrounds and toys, household appliances, cars and everything that can be used by anyone.
Mine safety knowledge is vital for everyone who is in the liberated territories or is planning to go there. And the rules of safe behavior need to be discussed and known by everyone living in Ukraine, because the complete clearance of mines in the country will take years, even after the war is over.
The Eastern Europe Foundation, together with the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, created this course for all Ukrainians.
The online course “Watch Your Steps! Watch Where You’re Going!” was developed within the framework of the programs “Watch Your Steps!” and “Spilnist” implemented by the East Europe Foundation in cooperation with the State Emergency Service of Ukraine at the expense of the European Union and DanChurchAid.
